more about the material seagrass

Seagrass is a natural material that has been used for braided products since ancient times. It is a fast-growing material and is the collective name for atype of flowering plant that lives in water and often grows on the shore and along river banks.

It is debated how many species of seagrass there are, but somewhere between 50 and 60 in the whole world, which come from 4 different plant families. A seagrass consists of three basic parts: leaves(number, size and shape vary between species and populations), rhizomes (root runners) and roots.

The seagrass is sun-dried and then becomes a strong and flexible material optimal to use for braiding beautiful and durable products.
